An Old Time Christmas at the West Manor School

Many thanks to those who came to our Second Annual Old Time Christmas Celebration at the West Manor School on December 14, 2019, it was a great success.

We had music provided by Stefano Pellegrinio Andreotti, paper chains, stringing popcorn and cranberries, painting tree ornaments, and, of course, a visit from Santa Claus.

Passport Through History

On Sunday, June 16, we had our 1st Annual Passport through History in conjunctions with the New York State Pathways through History. Families met at our museum to pick up their passport and hear a little about the history of the schoolhouse, then set of to various stops indicated on their passport.

The day concluded back at the schoolhouse where the travelers were treated to and short talk on farming in the Manorville community and to plant a vegetable in a pot to take home.

Completed passports  were put into a raffle for a drawing. Congratulations to prize winners Alex, Lisa, and Harold. Thanks to all our Passport travelers and our volunteer guides, and thanks to the Suffolk County Department of Parks for their support.

Keep an eye on our Events page for our next program.

Earth Day 2018

On Saturday, April 21, 2018, The Manorville Historical Society held the first annual community cleanup day. It was a perfect day to volunteer to clean up our little corner of the earth.

It was also the perfect day for an Eagle Scout Project. Jason Champ, of Boy Scout Troop 221 completed a marquee sign and garden in front of the West Manor School and Museum, home of the Manorville Historical Society.

Thanks
